Duimelot | Playgroup

Duimelot offers child care for children aged 2 to 4 years old.

Playgroup Duimelot is located inside the Jozefschool in De Goorn, in a green environment in a quiet residential area. The most important goal of the playgroup is to stimulate social development, by bringing toddlers into contact with contemporaries and adults outside of the family. Duimelot offers your toddler a safe place for this development.

Child care

The playgroup is opened every morning from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 AM.

If you would like to know more about this location or are interested in the possibilities for your child, then please contact us.

Playing indoors

The playgroup is a light, large space that is furnished with different corners, including a construction corner, home corner, reading corner, dressing up corner and a music listening corner. In the construction corner there is a workbench with different types of tools. In the dressing up corner children are able to magically transform themselves into princesses, firemen, cooks or Mega Mindy’s. The home corner has a kitchen that is equipped with an oven, a coffee machine and, not to be forgotten, a washing machine, so that all the dolls’ clothes can be washed regularly. The handiworks of the children are hanging on the wall.

We also start with certain basic skills, such as starting to count and recognizing colours, so that toddlers will be able to easily transition to primary school. We work closely together with the Jozefschool, for instance by working along the same themes. By working with a theme, the children playfully learn many new words about a certain subject.

Playing outdoors

Bordering on the school yard we have a spacious outdoor square that is secured by a gate. In the centre of the square there is a big sandbox, a seesaw and a slide with a Wendy house. Our Duimelot toy car has room for four children at the same time. There is also plenty of choice in outdoor toys, such as tractors, bicycles and push cars. Exercise and fresh air are important for a child, which is why we try to play outdoors as much as possible.
