De Kleine Wereld | Playgroup
The playgroup offers child care for children aged 2 to 4 years old. We work with two different groups with permanent, experienced room leaders.
The playgroup is opened from Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 16:00 PM. We are closed during the holidays.
If you would like to know more about this location or are interested in the possibilities for your child, then please contact us.
The playing area is a light, colourful space with many windows. This way, we can always monitor the group of toddlers from the hall, the office and the bathroom. Our cupboards come in all colours of the rainbow and inside these colourful cupboards are innumerable books that the children are able to read. We have a Wendy house with a real slide and a kitchen where the children can get busy cooking, cutting cakes or doing the shopping. We also have two hospital beds and a real medical bag. The children are able to withdraw for a while or play by themselves under the stairs or under the slide. With our dressing-up clothes we encourage the children to enter themselves more into the roles that they have chosen.
After all the parents have left, we all grab our chairs and sit down in a circle. We will then sing songs, eat a fruit purée and one of the room leaders will read from a book. Then it is time to play freely. The toddlers are allowed to paint, do art and crafts, glue or paint. During these activities we assess the (cognitive) development of the toddlers. After these activities we all go outside to play. We always finish the day with a song. At fifteen minutes to closing time all parents have the opportunity to ask questions from the room leaders.
We have a spacious, safe playing area where there is enough room to run, or to ride a scooter or a bicycle. You can crawl onto the slide by using the small climbing wall or the stairs. The toddlers are able to play on our swings, in the play and climbing house or in the sandbox, which always stays clean thanks to our convenient covering sheet. We have swings, crawling tunnels and mats to do somersaults. Our shed is full of little bicycles and other outdoor toys. There are large trees standing around the square, so we can keep a good eye on the seasons and talk about them. We pay a lot of attention to the seasons and festive days such as Christmas and Sinterklaas, but also to birthdays or the birth of a brother or sister. Once a month we visit the day-care centre for people suffering from dementia, which is located inside our building. We then sing songs or we read the children from a little book. Both the children and the elderly always visibly enjoy this.
