SWorking together, talking responsibility and handling differences
Together in the neighbourhood
Our out-of-school care locations are connected with local primary schools and are part of their areas or neighbourhoods. This way, we stimulate teachers and child care workers to meet each other, so the children will feel safe and secure.
Activity program full of adventure
At the OSC there is room and time to carry out the children’s fun and sometimes silly ideas. SKiK views children’s participation as a great good. Children are given the space to show what they would want to do at the OSC, which themes they like and which group rules they think are important. The ideas come from the children, consisting of activities in the fields of sports, games, crafts, constructing, cooking, theatre and music. Children decide where they want to join in and are also always allowed to choose for free play, indoors or outdoors.
Areas and independence
The group and outdoor areas are organised to encourage the children’s curiosity, to stimulate their independence and self-reliance and to provide a place where they feel safe and secure. Children enjoy playing in the nature discovery garden. When the child is old enough to travel home or to music or sports classes independently, we lay this down in an independence contract, which we draw up together with the child and its parents.
In the autumn of 2018, we will start with Konnect, a new parental portal. Our child care workers will take photographs of the adventures of your child. Using the app, you can look into this anytime and anywhere and you can easily send messages to our employees.
As a parent, you can leave quietly for work and drop your child off safe and secure at the OSC. This is pleasant for the children, but also for you as a parent. We will take care that your child will be brought to school.
We will take care that your child will be picked up from school by our employees.
There are different contractual forms possible for OSC:
- School weeks: care during school weeks, days without lessons excluded
School weeks + all holiday weeks
Getting used to the OSC
When you are placed at the OSC, we would like to get to know each other well. This is why we will arrange and adjustment period with the parents. Would you like a tour first? You are more than welcome!
